Systems Accountant

I am excited to bring this role to market, and I am keen to talk with an experienced Systems Accountant who is looking for a friendly fast paced team in Brisbane. Reporting to the Group Head of Financial Systems, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the finance systems operate efficiently, reliably and continue to evolve to meet the needs of the business.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong accountant who enjoys working at the intersection of finance and technology. You'll partner with finance stakeholders, software vendors and technology teams to optimise business processes, deliver system improvements and provide outstanding support to users across the organisation.
About the Role
As the Systems Accountant, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day management, support and continuous improvement of our finance systems environment. You'll help drive system enhancements, provide expert troubleshooting and ensure our finance platforms deliver accurate, efficient and scalable solutions for the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operation, maintenance and enhancement of finance systems including Microsoft Dynamics NAV/Business Central, NetSuite, Power BI, Power Apps, Blackline and Aurion.
- Maintain strong working relationships with software vendors and technology partners.
- Collaborate with Finance and Technology teams to implement system enhancements and process improvements.
- Own and manage the Finance Systems support ticket queue, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
- Provide user support, troubleshooting and training across finance systems.
- Develop ad hoc reports, dashboards and analysis to support business decision-making.
- Assist with finance systems projects, upgrades, implementations and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure finance systems remain reliable, efficient and aligned with business requirements.
About You
We are looking for a qualified accountant with a passion for finance systems, data and process improvement. You'll equally be comfortable solving technical problems as you are partnering with stakeholders to improve the way finance operates.
Essential Skills & Experience
- CA or CPA qualified.
- Ideally 5 years' experience in a Finance Systems or Systems Accountant role.
- Strong experience with ERP systems.
- Advanced Power BI skills, including DAX and Power Query (M).
- Advanced SQL skills.
- Experience across the Microsoft BI technology stack including SSRS, SSIS and SSAS.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to support and train end users.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
