An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Software Engineer to join a large-scale transformation initiative focused on modernising and simplifying a critical enterprise platform.
Working within a collaborative technology team, you will contribute to the development, integration and enhancement of business-critical applications while supporting ongoing continuous improvement initiatives.
The Role
As a Software Engineer, you will work across the full software development lifecycle, contributing to the design, development, integration and support of enterprise applications.
You will play a key role in delivering platform simplification projects, enhancing user experiences and ensuring solutions align with best practice development standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain enterprise applications and integrations
- Develop and enhance Oracle APEX applications and user interfaces
- Create and optimise Oracle PL/SQL packages, procedures and database objects
- Develop and support REST API integrations between enterprise systems
- Contribute to solution design, technical analysis and development activities
- Participate in testing, deployment and production support activities
- Work closely with business and technical stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and business-as-usual development activities
About You
You are a hands-on software engineer with strong Oracle development experience and a passion for building robust, scalable solutions.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong commercial experience with Oracle PL/SQL development
- Experience developing applications using Oracle APEX
- Experience designing and supporting system integrations
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Experience working with REST APIs and web services
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Highly Desirable
- Oracle APEX Forms development experience
- Java and JDeveloper experience
- HTML, JavaScript, CSS3, XML, Bootstrap and jQuery
- ANSI SQL experience
- C# and .NET development experience
- Experience working within large and complex enterprise environments
- ITIL knowledge or certification
- Experience within Higher Education or similarly complex organisations
