Make the numbers count. Drive better manufacturing performance.

Are you a commercially minded Management Accountant who enjoys getting beyond the numbers and understanding what drives business performance?

This is an opportunity to join an established manufacturing business where your financial insight will help improve production efficiency, strengthen cost control and drive profitability. Working closely with operational teams, you’ll turn data into decisions and make a tangible contribution to business success.

The opportunity

You’ll play a key role in providing financial and commercial insight across manufacturing operations, with responsibilities including:

  • Preparing monthly management reports, budgets and forecasts.
  • Analysing production costs, margins and profitability to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Monitoring inventory, stock movements and cost of goods sold.
  • Investigating production variances and explaining performance against budget and standard costs.
  • Supporting standard costing, bills of materials (BOMs) and manufacturing cost analysis.
  • Partnering with operational leaders to improve financial performance and cost efficiency.
  • Supporting financial planning, modelling and business decision-making.
  • Driving continuous improvement in reporting, processes and financial controls.

About you

You’re analytical, commercially curious and comfortable working with people outside finance. You enjoy understanding how a business operates and using financial information to influence better outcomes.

You’ll ideally bring:

  • Experience in management accounting, cost accounting or commercial finance.
  • Exposure to manufacturing, production or another operationally intensive environment.
  • Strong financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis skills.
  • An understanding of inventory accounting, product costing and production costs.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems; SAP experience is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to challenge assumptions constructively.
  • CA/CPA qualifications, or progress towards them, are desirable.

Why consider this opportunity?

This is more than a reporting role. You’ll have the opportunity to work close to the operation, understand the commercial drivers behind manufacturing performance and help turn financial insights into practical improvements.

If you enjoy combining technical accounting with commercial problem-solving, this could be your next move.
