About the role
We are seeking a hands-on and commercially minded Finance Manager to lead the finance function of the Australian business.
Reporting to the General Manager, you will oversee a small accounts team and take ownership of all financial operations. This is a broad, end-to-end role suited to someone who enjoys working in an SME environment, balancing strategic input with day-to-day execution.
You will play a key role in supporting business performance, providing financial insights, and partnering closely with leadership and directors.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the finance function for the Australian entity
- Manage and mentor a small accounts team
- Oversee AP, AR, payroll, and banking processes
- Prepare and review reconciliations, journals, and month-end reporting
- Deliver accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports with insights
- Ensure compliance with BAS, FBT, payroll, and statutory obligations
- Manage cashflow, FX exposure, and financial risk
- Develop budgets and forecasts
- Partner with leadership to support decision-making and performance
- Support audit and tax requirements
- Identify and implement process and system improvements
About you
You are a qualified CA or CPA with strong all-round finance capability and a proactive, hands-on approach.
You’re comfortable operating at both a detailed and strategic level — from managing payroll and reconciliations through to delivering board-level reporting and analysis.
You will bring:
- Proven experience in a senior finance role within an SME environment
- Strong technical skills across reporting, compliance, and month-end processes
- Solid understanding of cashflow management and financial controls
- Commercial acumen and problem-solving capability
- A proactive, accountable, and self-driven mindset
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience leading or mentoring junior staff
Highly regarded:
- Experience in manufacturing, mining, construction, or similar environments
- Exposure to Wiise, MYOB EXO, or MYOB Advanced
- Experience supporting tenders, quotations, or contract review
