ERP Technical Lead/Finance Consultant

Location: Perth CBD (Hybrid)
Contract: Initial 12-month contract
Rate: $800–$900 per day

The Role

Calling all heroes, a leading ASX-listed energy organisation is undertaking a large-scale finance transformation and is seeking an experienced SAP Finance Transformation Lead to drive key finance workstreams across its ERP landscape.

This role sits at the intersection of Finance and Technology, with a strong focus on SAP S/4HANA design, data, and finance architecture , ensuring solutions are both technically sound and embedded effectively into the business.

Core Responsibilities (No Fluff)

• Lead finance workstreams across SAP S/4HANA implementation / optimisation
• Design and implement Chart of Accounts, financial dimensions, and SAP finance structures (FI/CO)
• Translate finance requirements into SAP configuration and functional design
• Drive data migration, validation, and reconciliation processes across SAP environments
• Partner with Finance, IT, and system integrators to deliver SAP outcomes
• Oversee UAT, cutover, and post-go-live stabilisation
• Establish governance frameworks including roles, security, and segregation of duties (SoD)
• Support process improvement across month-end, reporting, and planning cycles within SAP
• Ensure data integrity, audit readiness, and financial controls are embedded in system design

Key Requirements

• CA / CPA / CIMA qualified (or equivalent)
• Proven experience delivering SAP finance transformations (S/4HANA preferred)
• Strong understanding of SAP FI/CO modules and finance data structures
• Experience with CoA design, financial dimensions, and reporting frameworks within SAP
• Hands-on involvement in data migration, ETL, and reconciliation processes
• Ability to bridge Finance, IT, and external SAP system integrators
• Strong stakeholder engagement across senior finance and business leaders

Highly Regarded

• Experience in energy, mining, or asset-intensive environments
• Exposure to large-scale or ASX-listed organisations
• Experience with SAP tools (e.g. SAP ALM, Datasphere, BW/4HANA)
• Background in Big 4 or consulting environments
• Exposure to reporting tools such as Power BI, SAC, or TM1
