Senior Trust Accounts Officer
Full Time | Permanent
Salary:  $90,000 - $110,000
Location:  CBD
Hours:  38 hours per week
Flexibility:  1 day working from home following probation
We are currently recruiting an experienced  Senior Trust Accounts Officer  to join a well-established and growing organisation with an excellent reputation in its industry. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a successful business that continues to go from strength to strength.
This position plays a key role within the finance team, with responsibility for overseeing trust account processes, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and supporting wider day-to-day finance operations. The successful candidate will bring strong reconciliation experience, advanced Excel skills including lookups, pivot tables and macros, and the confidence to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
This role will suit someone who enjoys taking ownership, solving problems, and contributing to the continuous improvement of systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage daily trust account transactions and ensure compliance with relevant trust account regulations
  • Perform regular bank and trust account reconciliations with a high degree of accuracy
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies, variances, and account issues in a timely manner
  • Support operational teams with trust accounting queries and related processes
  • Assist with accounts receivable duties, including invoicing, receipting, and debtor follow-up
  • Prepare financial information and supporting documentation for reporting and audits
  • Identify and contribute to process improvements across the finance function
  • Maintain accurate client and financial records across internal systems
About You
  • Previous experience in trust accounting within property, legal, insurance, or another regulated industry
  • Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals, including debits and credits
  • Excellent reconciliation and analytical skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Confident working independently and resolving financial discrepancies
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Solid working knowledge of Excel and accounting systems
