Client Advisory Manager
Adelaide
$120,000 - $160,000 + Super + Future Growth Pathway
Build More Than Client Files. Build a Business.
Our client is looking for an experienced Client Advisory Manager to take ownership of a portfolio of clients, lead a high-performing team, and play a key role in the future growth of the firm.
This is not a traditional accounting manager role focused purely on compliance. You'll be the trusted adviser to business owners, the leader of your team, and the person responsible for ensuring clients receive exceptional service, commercial advice, and outcomes that genuinely improve their businesses.
If you're an ambitious public practice professional who enjoys client relationships, mentoring staff, and having real influence over the direction of a firm, this opportunity offers the autonomy and long-term career pathway often missing in larger organisations.
About the Role
As Client Advisory Manager, you'll take ownership of a portfolio of SME and business clients while leading the team responsible for servicing them.
You will be trusted to operate with a high degree of autonomy, acting as the primary point of contact for your clients and ensuring work is delivered accurately, proactively, and on time.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing and growing a portfolio of business clients
- Acting as a trusted adviser on tax, business, and commercial matters
- Reviewing financial statements, tax returns and advisory work
- Leading, mentoring and developing onshore and offshore team members
- Managing workflow, deadlines and quality control processes
- Identifying opportunities to improve client outcomes and grow revenue
- Driving process improvements, efficiencies and best-practice systems
- Building strong long-term client relationships based on trust and service
About You
To be successful in this role, you will likely have:
- 6+ years' experience in Australian public practice accounting
- Strong tax and business advisory expertise
- Experience reviewing compliance work across a broad client base
- Previous leadership or team management experience
- Excellent client relationship and communication skills
- A proactive and commercial mindset
- CPA or CA qualification
- A genuine passion for helping clients succeed
Most importantly, you're someone who takes ownership, communicates openly, and wants to play a meaningful role in helping a growing firm achieve its long-term vision.
What's on Offer
- Senior leadership position with significant autonomy
- Direct exposure to business owners and strategic client advice
- Opportunity to influence systems, processes and firm direction
- Strong support and mentorship from the firm's leadership team
- Genuine long-term career progression opportunities
- Collaborative and values-driven culture
